I found this interesting video from ADA on how they maintain their huge aquascape tanks...look out for 3min mark, there is a custom made scissors to cut glosso... epic
to newbies, big tanks may look cool... but will be backbreaking to maintain....so if you do not want to go through the process... start small...:)
